The term, "e-portfolio" is short for "electronic portfolio." which is a collections of a student or professional's work that demonstrate the person's skills, experience, abilities and achievements. An e-portfolio is much like a traditional portfolio except everything is online.

An e-portfolio is a web-based information management system that can lure employers to you. Creating an e-portfolio can accomplish a greater understanding of your professional career growth, and can make your resume more attractive to employers.

Schools and universities can set up free Google Apps accounts with their own domain name, where they can give all student and faculty acces to a variety of tools, including a GMail account, iGoogle portal, Google Groups for collaboration, and Pages, for creating websites. Each user can also use their GMail account to activate other Google services, such as GoogleDocs.
